Meet Dr. Pierluigi Balice, D.D.S., M.Dent.Sc.
A dental professional since 2012, Dr. Pierluigi Balice joined our practice in 2023. He obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Bari in his native Italy, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He subsequently completed his specialty training at the University Of Connecticut School Of Dental Medicine, earning a Certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Dental Science degree.
A Board Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Surgeon, Dr. Balice served as a full-time Clinical Professor in the department of Periodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, directing the predoctoral periodontics course and teaching periodontics and implant dentistry to residents in the Advanced Education program. There he obtained a second D.D.S. degree, making him dual-licensed in the United States and Europe.
A lecturer both in this country and abroad, Dr. Balice has authored scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters on the treatment of peri-implantitis disease and dental implants biomechanics. He is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish.
Dr. Balice is certified by the American Board of Periodontology and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the European Association of Osseointegration, the Osteology Foundation, and the International Team for Implantology.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer, traveling, trying good cuisine and outdoor activities.
